An old favorite is back! Del Rey Yacht Club (DRYC) and Channel Islands Yacht Club (CIYC) are partnering to run this 45-mile downwind race from Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard, to Marina Del Rey on Saturday, Sept. 23 2023!
Channel Islands Harbor is an easy delivery destination from Santa Monica Bay. Most racers motor up the coast Friday morning and arrive in plenty of time for CIYC’s delicious BBQ dinner on Friday evening. It’s a fun club to hang out at, and they serve a fabulous pre-race breakfast on Saturday morning.
Racers will likely enjoy a warm, sunny and breezy spinnaker run down the coast, past Pt. Dume and Malibu, with most finishing before sunset.
Sunday morning, DRYC will host the racers to a breakfast and awards.
CIYC and DRYC are proud to bring back this popular race, and we’re excited that Santa Monica Windjammers YC is helping out too!
